Deepthi is an artist residing in Burlington, Ontario. She took to drawing and painting at a very early age. Further to completing her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from St. Teresa's College, Cochin, India, she completed her Masters degree in Fine Arts at the Stella Maris College, Chennai, India.

Deepthi has participated in several group exhibitions and has held solo exhibitions in Dubai and Art Expo, New York. She has been a commissioned artist producing several works for individuals and organisations.

“After making Burlington home in 2013, I am fascinated by the scenic beauty of the land. Especially the fall and spring colors on the niagara escarpment which rejuvenates and stimulates my creative mind”.

“Painting is the expression of my emotions and my way of communicating the invisible perspective of the subject. In my paintings I try to capture the moment which invokes my emotion and further protracts my thoughts on the subject.

I enjoy the feeling which each color and brush stroke provides me. I feel each paint medium has character. The lucidity of Oil based paint draws me in and provides me a sense of complete involvement. Acrylic is fast drying and its sense of urgency gives me spontaneity of expression. The placidity of water color provides me the ability to showcase subtlety and its beauty. I feel not being typecast will give me the freedom to explore new styles and will provide me versatility as an artist. Art fills me with a sense of accomplishment and transforms my inner vision to visible form.”
